Because of the violent transportation strike. we awoke not knowing if we could travel today. It was well before daylight when Salman woke us to tell us he had arranged a tuk-tuk two hour bumpy ride to Morretgone, to catch a paddle wheel boat that would take us to Dhaka. He had to pay a bribe to get a ticket as transportation is at a premium at this time. Our boat was built in the 20’s and converted from steam to diesel in 1995. This was a real eye opener but actually a pleasant journey. We would arrive in Dhaka around 5am if the fog didn’t cause the boat to have to anchor during the night. /susan
