Susan's Story, The Black Sea & Holy Lands
Within a few years the Ukraine will require the remaining Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy to move out of their huge base in Sevastopol. Russia is busy building a new large base here. The Prinsendam is the first cruise ship to ever come to this port and there were no tugs large enough to help it dock in gale force winds. There are monuments everywhere to the heroic stand given against the Nazis and there is a cold war era Soviet Cruiser as a museum available for touring. The unseasonably cold, windy, & rainy weather interfered with our exploration here. Still a memorable destination. /susan
